Finding Serenity by Eden Butler

Finding Serenity - Eden Butler

Vaughn was a sexy protective hero who at times got a bit wearing with his "I want to sleep with you but No! I have to keep my hands off you", a lot of flip flopping with this guy. Towards the end his past also got a tad overdramatic but his calm, soothing, and strong presence ultimately make him a hero you want to be invested in. Mollie was a strong character in her own right but there were times she came off spoiled and immature in wanting Vaughn to disregard safety and everything to want her but as she is only twenty-two and it is discussed throughout how she is younger than Vaughn, I found this refreshingly realistic. They have an instant physical attraction and spend the majority of the book trying to fight it while their emotional closeness side develops, it makes for a measured joining but again, more realistic. The action side of the story kept our leads together and kept the pace moving but I do wish one or two "death defying" moments had been edited out. This is second in the Seeking Serenity series and except for developing a crush on Declan the hero from the first book and wanting to go and read it and having a mad desire to read Donovan's story, the future hero in the next book, I never felt lost or confused.
